Welcome!

Welcome to my Team in Training 2010 NYC Triathalon blog! Be patient with me as I'm new to just about everything involved in this process: the blogs, the pool, biking multiple times a week and running in all kinds of weather conditions. I'm just 1 month into my training and I feel like I've already learned so much! This has been an unbelievable, eye-opening experience and it's just the beginning!

I used to think I could really swim! Then, I tried laps in the pool and remembered why I hated YMCA swim lessons as a kid; I drink way too much pool water! Chlorine's good for you though, right? Maybe?

The running's been going ok except when it's rainy and in the 30's. The good news, is as you get more tired in the run, you start to care less about the puddles in your way. The other good news is when it's rainy, you don't have to do core exercises outside. :) Hee hee.

Single-leg squats actually make me really sore. Boy, do I miss the good, ol' in shape personal training days! If any of my trainer friends are reading this, give me a shout! I could use a good workout!

I've already ran in 30 degree rainy weather, encountered my first injury including surgery, and considered shaving my head so it would fit better in my swim cap. I can't wait to see what April brings!

Thanks so much for visiting my TNT Blog! This is an amazing event. I'm very excited to be part of it. Check back here often for updates on how I'm doing and to look for some fun stories.

For now, please visit my Team in Training page to learn how you can help sponsor me and support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
